Froebel Galleries, Ltd. was established in 1991 and named in honor of the gallery director’s ancestor from the principality of Schwarzburg-Rudolstadt, province of Thuringia in what is today Germany.
Friedrich Wilhelm August Froebel (1782-1852) was the educator who developed and founded the first kindergarten which was located in Bad Blankenburg, Thuringia, Germany.
